Houston, TX – May 22, 2025: Leading contemporary art fair Untitled Art announces exhibitors for its first edition in Houston, alongside a new design partnership with Michael Hsu Office of Architecture. The boutique, invitational fair will debut from September 19 through September 21, 2025, at the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston, with a VIP and Press Preview on September 18, 2025.

Aligned with its mission to support the broader arts ecosystem and enhance diversity in its programming, Untitled Art’s expansion to Houston aims to engage new audiences and strengthen the art scene of one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States. Renowned for its multicultural population – with over 145 languages spoken – Houston is one of the most diverse cities in the country. Situated on the Texas Gulf Coast, the city is known as the cultural and culinary capital of the South, boasting a thriving art market, seasoned collectors, leading institutions, commercial galleries, art schools, and artists.

Showcasing a blend of regional perspectives and participants from the fair’s extensive network of galleries across the globe, selected by Untitled Art Founder Jeffrey Lawson, Houston Director Michael Slenske, and Executive Director Clara Andrade, Texas-based participants in the Main sector of the fair include Sicardi | Ayers | Bacino, Moody Gallery, McClain Gallery, Inman Gallery, BOND CONTEMPORARY and Barbara Davis Gallery (Houston), Meliksetian | Briggs, Erin Cluley Gallery, Galleri Urbane, and Keijsers Koning (Dallas), and Colector (Houston / Dallas / Monterrey, MX). First-time exhibitors with Untitled Art include Michael Kohn Gallery, La Loma, and Philip Martin Gallery (Los Angeles), Half Gallery, New Discretions, and Swivel Gallery (New York), Jessica Silverman (San Francisco), and Spinello Projects (Miami). International participants include Patel Brown (Toronto / Montreal, CA), El Apartamento (Madrid, ES / La Habana, CU), Cecilia Brunson Projects (London, UK), Revolver Galería (Lima, PE) and TERN (Nassau, BS).

Reflecting Untitled Art’s foundation as a curatorial platform that champions established, underrepresented, and emerging artistic voices, the fair has expanded its ‘Nest’ sector, an initiative designed as a platform for discovery, offering subsidized booths to mitigate the traditional barriers presented by the cost of art fair participation. This year’s edition includes 12.26 (Dallas, Los Angeles), Martha's (Austin), Seven Sisters, Laura (the gallery), F, Basket Books & Art, and the University of Houston School of Art and Public Art (Houston), Megan Mulrooney Gallery (Los Angeles), Alice Amati (London, UK), Rajiv Menon Contemporary (Los Angeles), deCERCA (San José, CR), CONSTITUCIÓN (Buenos Aires, AR) and KDR (Miami), among others.

“This is a moment when all of Houston’s top museums are in expansion mode and currently offering some of the most dynamic programming in the nation, as are the city’s emerging and established galleries and project spaces,” says Michael Slenske, Director, Untitled Art, Houston. "Meanwhile there are countless world-class artists who live and work in the Bayou City. I'm just very excited to be part of this new era of growth in the city’s art landscape with the launch of Untitled Art, Houston this September.”

In a new partnership, Untitled Art will collaborate with the Austin-based firm Michael Hsu Office of Architecture to design a floor plan that elevates the experience for exhibitors and visitors alike. This collaboration continues Untitled Art’s commitment to thoughtful design, building on the legacy of its Miami Beach edition. For the 2024 fair, Untitled Art expanded on its original Nautilus-inspired pavilion – first custom-designed by Keenen/Riley for the inaugural 2012 edition – reimagining the space to reflect its evolving vision. "Our firm greatly values the process of collaborating with contemporary artists to bring fresh perspectives to the spaces we design,” says Jay Colombo, Architect, Michael Hsu Office of Architecture. “We're happy to partner with Untitled Art to bring this event to Houston and share in their mission to support the wider art ecosystem."

The inaugural Houston edition will showcase a series of Special Projects displayed throughout the fair, alongside cultural partnerships with institutions such as the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH), the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston (CAMH), the Menil Collection, Asia Society Texas, the Rothko Chapel, and other key institutional partners across the city. A percentage of ticket sales from Untitled Art, Houston will be donated to the Rothko Chapel. September will also mark the return of Untitled Art’s on-site podcast series. In addition, the fair will continue to extend its support across the art industry to include art critics and writers through its Untitled Edit platform aimed at furthering the crucial advancement of art criticism. The initiative, which began in 2022 to reignite Untitled Art’s writers-in-residence program, offers paid opportunities for budding and established voices to generate dialogue around themes prominent across each edition of the fairs. Further details on cultural partnerships, collateral events, and programming will be announced in the coming months.

About Untitled Art

Founded in 2012, Untitled Art is a leading contemporary art fair held annually in December on the sands of Miami Beach and, starting in September 2025 in Downtown Houston. Shaped by new curatorial voices and themes, each edition of Untitled Art addresses urgent cultural issues through dynamic programming and intentional design, and is responsive to the evolving needs of artists, galleries, collectors, and the broader art landscape.

Untitled Art serves as a curatorial platform for discovering contemporary art, spotlighting both emerging and established voices. Exhibitors are invited based on the strength of their programs and artistic vision, under the leadership of Founder Jeffrey Lawson, Executive Director Clara Andrade, and Houston Director Michael Slenske.

Through its Nest sector, an initiative designed to reduce traditional barriers to entry, Untitled Art provides vital support to new talent, emerging galleries, and nonprofit organizations. As the first fair to launch an online edition, Untitled Art remains at the forefront of technological innovation, expanding access to collecting contemporary art and championing a more inclusive and responsible culture by amplifying diverse voices within the contemporary art market, platforming artists and galleries from underrepresented backgrounds and regions.

Gallery presentations are complemented by creative programming that supports the broader arts ecosystem – through rotating guest curators, live performances, special projects, a robust talks and podcast series, as well as the advancement of arts criticism with the online platform Untitled Edit. The fair also hosts year-round events in cities around the world.

With each fair, Untitled Art celebrates the art scenes in which it operates through continued engagement and cultural partnerships with local galleries, artists, museums, nonprofits, and other community organizations to champion regional voices and support long-term growth.

Untitled Art is committed to innovation to respond to the needs of artists, art professionals, galleries, and collectors, continuously adapting its architectural design and operating model to reshape the role of art fairs in an ever-evolving art landscape.

To reduce its environmental impact, Untitled Art has joined the Gallery Climate Coalition and works to ensure zero environmental impact around each edition.

In 2025, Untitled Art, Houston will debut from September 19 to September 21 (VIP and Press Preview September 18). Untitled Art, Miami Beach will take place from December 3 to December 7 (VIP and Press Preview December 2).
