The fair returns to the sands of Miami Beach for its most international show to date, focusing on collaboration across the local and global art community

Miami Beach, FL. September 6, 2022 – Untitled Art is pleased to announce the list of over 140 international galleries and non-profit arts organizations participating in its 11th and most international edition to date. Taking place from November 29 to December 3, 2022 on the sands of Miami Beach at Ocean Drive and 12th Street (with a VIP and Press Preview on Monday November 28), the independently owned fair will feature presentations by an international group of leading and undiscovered contemporary artists.
Untitled Art will return with compelling booth presentations, site-specific installations, and performances as part of an expanded curatorial platform spearheaded by Artistic Director Omar López-Chahoud. Guided by a mission to support the wider art ecosystem, this year’s fair will focus on collaboration across the local and global art community. Participants have been selected for their curatorial integrity and international reach, and the fair’s curation will facilitate interesting juxtapositions and discussion between galleries, artists, and non-profits from 31 countries.
‘Nest’, a progressive sector introduced in 2021, returns for a second year in support of young and emerging galleries. Developed in response to the economic impact
of the pandemic, ‘Nest’ provides subsidized booths to 21 emerging galleries and non-profits to mitigate the traditional entry barriers associated with art fair participation. In consideration of Untitled Art’s location, the fair’s team has ensured representation of leading Miami-based galleries within its exhibitors list and ongoing engagement with local institutions, including first-time participant [NAME], an organization that creates books with an emphasis on showcasing practices often marginalized in dominant art and design histories. Other Miami- based galleries include Dimensions Variable, Emerson Dorsch, and Jupiter Contemporary.
Untitled Art additionally supports the wider arts community by providing an important platform for non-profit spaces. A new participant to this year’s edition
is Arts of Life/Circle Contemporary, an exhibition space in Chicago and Glenview providing artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities a collective space to expand their practice. Florida-based Long Road Projects is also participating
in the 2022 fair. Long Road Projects is an artist residency program and publishing house that aims to serve as an integral platform for artistic experimentation, community engagement, and education. Her Clique, an organization founded with a mission to celebrate and promote women artists, will release three editions by 2022 exhibiting artists and donate the proceeds to charity.
The first to launch a virtual reality art fair in response to the pandemic, Untitled Art continuously invests in new technologies to make contemporary art collecting more accessible to new audiences. This year, Untitled Art brings on Vortic as its Digital Partner. Vortic will create 3D and VR experiences as an extension of ‘Nest’ to provide a curated digital exhibition, as well as sponsor the fair’s ‘Nest Prize.’
Commencing as part of this year’s fair, in a continued effort to amplify diverse voices, Untitled Art will select one participating gallery on an annual basis to present a special solo booth that highlights the work of an older or deceased artist who has made a significant contribution to contemporary art discourse. This year’s selected gallery is Galerie Christian Lethert (Cologne, Germany) who is exhibiting the work of 82-year-old artist Imi Knoebel, a German painter and sculptor known for his contributions to and shaping of 20th century Minimalist abstract art.
In 2022, Untitled Art will also reignite its ‘writers-in-residence’ program to support the crucial advancement of art criticism while cultivating the next generation of writers. Articles will be published on Untitled Art’s website in the lead up to the fair and shared across social media. Topics will include key themes from this year’s edition, including collaboration, diversity, sustainability and more. Untitled Art’s Founder and Director Jeffrey Lawson says: “For this year’s edition of Untitled Art, we are looking to stage an ambitious and forward-thinking presentation that reconsiders the role of an art fair in today’s cultural landscape. About Untitled Art
Founded in 2012, Untitled Art is the leading independent contemporary art fair taking place annually on the sands of Miami Beach. Guided by a mission to support the wider art ecosystem, Untitled Art offers an inclusive platform for discovering contemporary art that prioritizes collaboration within each aspect of the fair.
Each year, new and long-standing exhibitors are selected by Untitled Art’s evolving curatorial team for their artistic integrity and international reach, with several galleries based outside of mainstream art hubs. Through critical and educational programming, from a robust on-site podcast series focusing on relevant industry topics and artist talks to events and community activations outside of the fair itself, Untitled Art attracts contemporary art collectors, art professionals, curators, art historians and critics, among other enthusiasts. It also celebrates the context in which the fair is held by promoting leading galleries from Miami and engaging with local institutions. To reduce its environmental impact, Untitled Art works closely with the City of Miami Beach to ensure a zero-impact presentation and reuses its custom-designed tent for each edition. In 2022, Untitled Art will also reignite its ‘writers-in-residence’ program to support the crucial advancement of art criticism while cultivating the next generation of writers.
Untitled Art 2022 will take place during Miami Art Week from Tuesday November 29 through Saturday December 3, with a VIP Preview on Monday November 28. The fair coincides with Art Basel Miami Beach, held from Thursday December 1 to Saturday December 3.
