Zoë Buckman

Fresh Art International

Today, Fresh Art International's founder and director, Cathy Byrd will be in conversation with New York-based artist Zoë Buckman about her politically engaged projects.

Zoë Buckman is a New York-based multi-disciplinary artist working in sculpture, installation, and photography to explore themes of feminism, mortality, and equality. On view at Pulse art fair this week, her installation of boxing gloves joined with a neon diagram of the uterus is the artist’s response to the attack on Planned Parenthood in the United States. A continuation of Buckman’s ongoing series Mostly It’s Just Uncomfortable, the piece raises questions about health care, sex education, and women’s rights, while promoting female positivity.
