Brook Hsu, REPRO

About life and making art, Los Angeles based artist Brook Hsu says, “My greatest fear is to walk this world assuming that everything around us is in our sovereign control. Nonhuman subjectivity makes possible the intellectual position that material is conscious and that it is my collaborator in the process of art making. I am a naturalist, a ‘civilized hunter’ in search for the ‘real’ in ‘realism’ following the medium of the corporeal - the animal body.”

“Repro” is an exercise in Realism. Brook talks with artist Christofer Degrer about being a woman, sexual discovery, Donald Trump, Lost Highway, Donald Trump and the penis of the male Argentive Lake Duck. This episode features Abbe Findley, George Carr, and the lectures of Evolutionary Ornithologist Rick Prum.
