On today’s broadcast, we are proud to feature a unique presentation of Ben Lerner’s
short story, “The Polish Rider,” originally published in The New Yorker (June 6 & 13, 2016 Fiction Issue). Visual artist Anna Ostoya will read her version of the story on Untitled, radio.
Ben Lerner is an American poet, novelist, essayist, and critic. He has been a Fulbright Scholar, a finalist for the National Book Award, a Howard Foundation Fellow, a Guggenheim Fellow, and a MacArthur Fellow. His most recent book, The Hatred of Poetry, was published in 2016 by Farrar, Straus & Giroux.
Anna Ostoya is a Polish visual artist and graduate of the Whitney Independent Study Program, working in a variety of media, including painting, photomontage, and writing. Her work has been exhibited widely internationally, including solo exhibitions at Bortolami Gallery (New York), Silberkuppe (Berlin), Galeria Foksal (Warsaw), and Kunsthalle Mulhouse (France).
